The Story Behind the H&H Foundation
The H&H Foundation was established to honor the legacy and values of Dr. Alan Y. Yan’s parents, Hsing Ti Li and Hong Tsai Yan.
Dr. Yan, a first-generation immigrant to the United States, built his career as an orthopedic surgeon after overcoming significant challenges early in life. His journey reflects the opportunity and possibility that education, mentorship and perseverance can provide.
Throughout his life, his parents encouraged him to give back to the country and the society that helped him succeed. In 2023, following the passing of his mother due to COVID-19, her final wish inspired Dr. Yan and his family to establish the H&H Foundation.
The foundation continues their legacy by supporting physicians, advancing medical education and helping patients around the world gain access to the highest standards of care.
